The conservation of the Kottuli wetland from unlawful landfilling and greedy land firms will be conceivable simply after a reasonable division of its boundaries by the Revenue Department, state environmental activists. Samiti district secretary T.V. Rajan says local bodies in charge of wetland protection regularly neglect to execute their proposals for the reason incorporated into the yearly arrangement.

“Though the Forest Department and the police are primarily responsible for initiating action against instances of wetland encroachments, they usually ignore such cases,” he alleges.

Mr. Rajan calls attention to that even government buildings have come up on wetland regions leveled before. “One such building near the Sarovaram Biopark is yet to get even the building number from the Kozhikode Corporation,” he adds.
